How to take care of your sunglasses?
1. Avoid contact with sea or pool water. They can stain the lenses and cause the metals in the frames to oxidize.
2. When not using the accessory, keep it in its box or case in a cool place.
3. Avoid contact with sunscreen or tan lotion. The chemicals in these products can stain the lenses.
4. Try not to wear sunglasses on your head, as this could bend the frame.
5. Clean your sunglasses every day after using it. Particles can buildup over days at the beach and pool and in contact with water and different chemicals can cause stains and scratches on the lens.
When you get home, take the accessory out of the box, place it under cold running water to let out all the dirt particles that could scratch the lenses and frame.
Then, use a damp flannel with neutral soap or a lens cleaner to clean the sunglasses.
Finally, dry it out with a dry flannel, and avoid any accumulation of water on the frame. This can cause oxidation of the metals present in the accessory.
Under no circumstances clean your sunglasses with sea or pool water, and never use the flannel on the dry lens while you are still at the beach. The glasses might be full of sand and that will scratch your lenses!
What is UV protection, and why is it important for sunglasses?
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a type of invisible light emitted by the sun that can cause damage to your eyes. Sunglasses with UV protection block 100% of UVA and UVB rays, which helps protect your eyes from cataracts, macular degeneration, and other eye conditions related to sun exposure. Look for sunglasses labeled "100% UV protection" or "UV400" to ensure your eyes are well-protected.
